Loans, February 4th 2011
I was able to make it through all of last year without taking out any loans. This year I had to. Things like school, getting a car, and buying a lens all weighed in on the decision to borrow money. It’s kinda too bad but I think in the long run its going to pay off. Without taking out a loan I wouldn’t be able to have a car which will get me to my internship which will help me get a job in the future. If I don’t do any of that I run the risk of graduating without any real field experience.
Down in Southern California you kind of need a car to do anything. So the loan is necessary.
Plus getting a car is on my Goals for 2011, so taking out a loan is one of the things I’m doing to reach that goal.
And if you’re going to take out a loan, I think you should at some point lay it all out in front of you and realize just what you’re doing. The money you’re spending now is going to have to go back to where it came from eventually. Buying something with loaned money is not the end of securing something you want, its the beginning of a responsibility. Once you pay back the loan you are done.
And you also realize paper money is useless until you trade it in for something else.

The Photo Cave, February 3rd 2011
Goal #29 for 2011 (Cover an entire wall with photos in my dorm room) MAKING PROGRESS.
Slowly but surely more photos are going up around the room. Latest addition – the inside of my door has been covered with pictures. Eventually it will cover the entire wall. Right now it goes from the entrance to about where my computer is. I have about a fourth of the wall left to go.
Once it is complete I will call it “the photo cave.”

Over Interterm I had time to get into the weight room a good amount, and I have no better person to thank than Danny Brennan. He forced me go to the gym a couple of times.
And by a coupe of times, I mean a lot of times.
