This is the difference between f/14 and f/1.4
The f/14 glass is the one that is more in focus, while the f/1.4 is the one that is smoother and pleasently blurrier. You would use both of these different apertures in different settings and to say something different about your subject.

So since I didn’t actually take a picture of Obama, that means I still need to post a shot I did take in order to be true to my ‘photo of the day.’
